FAITH DISCUSSION GROUP

For many of us, our catholic education stopped after we left school. We may come to Mass every Sunday, but how much do we really understand about our faith. Could we explain to another Christian why the Church believes in infant baptism? Could you explain why we believe in the real presence of Christ in Communion? Why we need the Catholic Church at all?

Or maybe you've been away from the Church for a while. Maybe you're not sure if you want to return,but you are willing at least to take a second look. If you agree with, or fully understand some Catholic teachings. You may have issues concerning marriage or divorce, or even had your faith shaken.

Perhaps you are interested in finding out more aout the Church but don'd know how. Or perhaps there has not been the time in your life. But now you are willing to take that first step.

If you want to know more about the Catholic Church, St Mary's Faith Discussion Group will give you the opportunity , to talk, question, listen and help you understand the Church and its teachings.

Subject: Pope in GlasgowThe Pope comes to Glasgow and asks "Anyone with 'special needs' who wants to be prayed over, please come forward to the front by the altar.With that, wee Brendan got in line, and when it was his turn, the Popeasked, "My son, what do you want me to pray about for you?"Wee Brendon replied, "Your Holiness, I need you to pray for help withmy hearing."The Pope put one finger of one hand in Brendon's ear, placed his otherhand on top of his head, and then prayed and prayed and prayed. Heprayed a great prayer for Brendon, and the whole congregation joinedin with great enthusiasm.After a few minutes, the Pope removed his hands, stood back and asked,"Brendan, how is your hearing now?"Wee Brendon answered, "Ah don't know. It's no' 'til next week....."
