COME AND JOIN US
Tuesday 12th August 2009 saw over 30 parishioners and friends take a trip down the M6 to spend the day at the Birmingham Catholic Charismatic Renewal Conference.  The main attraction was a live appearnce of Fr Stan Fortuna, with appearances also by Steve Murray, a mime artist.

The party arrived about 11.30am and caught the last of the presentation by David Wrigley of Maranatha Ecumenical Movement, based in Manchester.  David talked about the work of the Holy Spirit in his life.  Then we were ushered to the room where Fr Stan was 'performing'.  For 90 mins he held us all spell bound, young and old, with a mixture of music, song and talk.

After lunch, we filed back to the main hall to watch Steve Murray perform his Passion play, first from a Roman Centurion's point of view, then Simon of Cyrene and then Peter.  His show was a mixture of mime, talk and music, and brought many of the audience to tears.

We were then entertained by Fr Bob Faricy who talked on 'Contempative Prayer'. Fr Bob is a world reknown Moral Theologist who taught in the Gregorian University in Rome.  One of his pupils was a certain Francis Marsden!

Finally we celebrated Mass - and celebrated was the word, with much singing and even some dancing.

The party arrived back in Chorley for 10.00pm having had a lot more than they had anticipated.
