We have regular trips out. This year we have been to Eureka in Halifax. Plus theatre visits, camping outdoors at Waddecar, near Preston and Bibby’s Farm, Heath Charnock and indoors at Fylde Scout Headquarters, St. Annes on Sea.
Other places we have visited are; the Firre Station, Reghed, Mancheser Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester Airport, climbing up St. Mary’s Church Tower, All Seasib’s Leisure Centre and Camelot theme Park. In the summertime we have activities around the town centre and in Astley Park. There is also an annual cross country run and a Sports day.
We all enjoy ourselves on Friday nights and have lots of fun. Seasonal craft making is popular and playing games.
Cub Scout leaders are named after the characters in the Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. The former name for cub scouts was wolf cubs. The Cub Scout leader is Akela, the leader of the seeonee pack in the book. Todate, St. Mary’s Cub Pack has 31 cub scouts.
