ALTAR SERVERS
Boys and Girls after making their First Communion











Altar Servers form a very important part of the church and every parish is enriched through their dedicated service.

Their duties during Mass are:-
a) to carry the processional cross and acolytes at the front of the gathering procession.
b) at the gospel poclamation, if it is a church habit, the acolytes carry candles.
c) receiving the gifts of bread and wine, when the priest receives them.
d) preparation of chalice, to present cruet of wine and water for the priest to put into the chalice.
e) lavabo, the server administers the water to the priest as he ritually washes his hands.
f) at the eucharist, the altar servers ring bells at the important points during the eucharistic prayer.
g) ending procession, the priest and altar servers leave the altar, again, the processional cross is carried by acolytes.
